As Part of the Hotel Tax Ordinance No. 694, City Council shall appoint a five member Convention and Tourism Bureau. The Bureau will consist of 3 members representing the Hotel Industry, and 2 members representing Tourist Attractions. Applications are being accepted until 9 a.m. on May 18, 2015 for individuals interested in serving on the Bureau.
The Mayor and Council awarded a contract to Poe & Associates, Inc. Engineering Firm to create a Pavement Management Plan.
In Spring of 2015, Poe & Associates, Inc. will walk and inspect ALL public streets within the City of Grove, update existing GIS maps and prepare a multi-year work plan that provides recommendations for preventative maintenance and major rehabilitation on city streets.
Upon completion, the plan will be available on the city's website, and residents will be able to view the condition of streets, recommended repairs or rehab to the streets, the timeframe the work will be done, and the cost for the construction on each street.
PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN - UPDATE
On March 16th, Poe and Associates will begin conducting their field work /pavement inspection on our city streets as part of the City of Grove’s Pavement Management Plan. They will begin in the north end of the community and work their way south. It is anticipated that the field work will take approximately 4-5 weeks to complete. They will be using pink spray paint to identify the areas that they are evaluating. Questions or concerns can be directed to City Hall at (918) 786-6107.
